about me

Sophie Black 011 low res

I am an experienced radio producer, comedy and travel writer.  I produce programmes and short-form content across all the major BBC radio networks, most recently a 3 hour Chris Morris special for BBC Radio 4 Extra called Raw Meat Radio. I also regularly write both travel features and comedy for TV and radio.

I am currently developing a sitcom with Fergus Craig called The Actor’s School which you can watch here.  The idea came from a series of improvised interviews we made for BBC Three.

I was nominated for the Edinburgh Best Newcomer award in 2006  as part of a sketch group called Fat Tongue.  We made this which Kevin Bacon described as ‘the funniest thing he’s ever seen’.  True story.

A born and bred South Londoner, I live in Brixton in a flat which currently has a mouse problem.
